What books? The ones that haven't come out yet? If that is the case, you will get the pre-order stuff when the book comes out. It is like a pre-order bonus that video games have.
@Stormknight, do you know, are there any plans to release those bonuses from previously released books? I missed out on Xanathar's and would be interested in adding them to my collection!
Hearing everyone else say this, I think by early access they mean you get access to the borders before the general public in D&D Beyond. So we get them with the book launches, but then others that did not pre-order do not get them until a later date.
It's still rather convoluted and I wish it was spelled out better.
I mean, look at it like a pre-order as a videogame. You don’t get the content pre-order bonus until the game is released. The pre-order content is available to you fist and after some time (I don’t know when) the stuff is for the public. It isn’t like they are trying to hide that from people. Some people just misinterpreted the way it was written I guess.
As answered above - you get them when the product launches, usually on launch date or within a few days after it.
Early Access means that D&D Beyond might make those themes and portraits available to other users at some point in the future. From experience, this will be at least a year duration where they are only available to those who pre-ordered.
pre ordered the new material. and it says that you will get:
Pre-ordering on D&D Beyond will grant early access to adventure portraits, character frames, character sheet backdrops, and theme colors.
but cant find it/ or did not get it?
please help :)
anyone else have this problem?
I'm in the same boat, I'm confused on when they show up.

I believe that you'll receive these once said book releases. This is assuming you're pre-ordered one of the books that hasn't been released yet!
As those above have mentioned - the bonuses for pre-ordering are granted when the book you have pre-ordered is released.
