While creating my swashbuckler rogue I could not select Perception as one of the base proficiency skills for the class. It is listed on the available skills that can gain the bonus, but is not in the corresponding list that we select from.
I used a homebrew race for this character, but what I'm referring to is the 4 skills any level 1 rogue can choose for the proficiency bonus if that clarifies it?
If the proficiency you are looking for is not available to select in the dropdown list, it's because the character already has that proficiency from another source (in this case, likely to be your race).
