Hello, and good evening. I sent a support ticket regarding this, but when I clicked on the link to the support ticket it said it couldn't find the page, so I was hoping to ask here for advice in case others have had a similar issue. I found a similar issue reported on reddit once, so given this isn't an isolated issue I thought it would be best to ask around, or at least have all the images gathered in one place in case I need to submit it again, or if I have just misunderstood something and need to be more careful regarding pre-purchasing for early access in the future.
I decided to do the pre-order version of Heroes of Faerun as a treat to myself and so I could have early access to the digital book. The grand total was 71 dollars and 44 cents after shipping, and I can see in my inventory as well I have two separate purchases for $29.99 (digital) and $49.99 (physical). I know this is how they like to do this.
However, when I checked my bank, I was charged for 71 dollars and an order for $48.95. For context, I set up a pay-in-four option with my bank which I have done many times with no issue with the purchase whenever I have done so (not Paypal, my bank allows me to split a purchase into 4 after a purchase of 50 dollars or more within a limit).
I purchased nothing else with this order at all, but I've been charged 48 dollars by WOTC, roughly the same cost as the physical book. At first I thought that perhaps for the first time in 2 years of using this service my pay-in-four had created some kind of issue, but now I'm more concerned after seeing that reddit post. While I got an e-mail confirming they had received my inquiry, when I click the link provided in the e-mail it says the page is not found.
Should I just wait for WOTC to get back to my support request? Should I call the bank to dispute the charge? I would certainly prefer avoiding the risk of my DNDBeyond account being compromised or suspended, but if that's what it takes it's what it takes. Or is there something in the fine print I have completely misunderstood and this charge is normal? Still kind of wish they said that in the grand total, though.
It's just concerning since it's money on the line and I don't really know how to proceed. If anyone has dealt with this and has advice, I'd certainly appreciate it!
