Birdpipes not listed in equipment

I've looked in the character builder screen and in manage equipment while viewing character, scrolled through all items, and no birdpipes are able to be added to equipment that I can see. They are listed on dnd beyond at https://www.dndbeyond.com/equipment/232-birdpipes

I noticed in the description on that page it mentions "also known as the shalm", to which I found gear called "shawm", which is also a type of instrument, but their is no description for it. 

I added a custom item for now, but it would be cool to get that fixed. Thanks!

Those are from the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide. To use them in the character builder you'd need to own that book (or have access to it through content sharing) and also enabled "5e Expanded Rules" on the Home tab of the character builder.

Also, when changing those Sources options on the Home tab, you sometimes need to refresh the page before it'll actually be reflected in some areas of the character builder.

Yes, I have access to that book via sharing and have the required 5e expanded enabled. . I'm wondering if it's because I created this character in a different campaign, not the one I've had that booked shared with me in, that it won't populate?

Yes, that is exactly what it is. Character options from shared content can only be used on characters in the campaign where the content is being shared.

Since birdpipes don't really do anything in the character builder, you can just add a custom item on the Inventory tab on the character sheet to represent them if you want.
