So in Character Builder, under the variant human option, I am only able to choose between 'Grappler' and Sveniferblin (or something like that) magic. Any chance this can be fixed? I like me some feats

If I own paper copies of the compendiums (DMG, PH, etc. because I actually bought the books) is there a way I can "add" them to my account for personal use?

You will eventually able to write anything you want as private homebrew.
K. So I can write things in as private homebrew, but I can't automatically get access to the modules that I've purchased paper copies of. Which is fine, I was just checking. Thanks for the reply!
I have the same original question, except I have a campaign started with content sharing turning on. One of my players has purchased the PHB, we are sharing the content (I can view it), but I still only see 2 feats in the character builder??

When the content sharing is on, you can use the shared content in the builder only if you are using the campaign link to create your character.
"using the campaign link to create your character." Being new, I am not sure I understand. So if I have the Master Tier, and have created the campaign, can I also create a character inside that campaign? One of my players has the PHB, so I'm confused how I create the character with the campaign link?

Yes even as the campaign creator, you can use the campaign link (top right side of the campaign page) to create your character. If you do not use that link, the shared content in the builder is not unlocked.
My DM has sent out the invite and I have created my character but as part of the GM's homebrew he allowed each character 1 additional feat at character creation (we started at level 0 characters) this was before using the D&D beyond site. Is there a way to add the additional feat as now a level 4 character and gaining a feat i have no "slot" for one.

No, currently there is no way to add a feat outside the official character progression. You, however, can emulate the additional feat making up a homebrew item to equip.
So despite the fact most people are just looking for a character page editor, just something to track it, dnd beyond is going to hold something about our characters behind a pay wall even if we have the books in rl. One of those feats you can't even actually use.

So what the hell?
It is not a paywall, is the cost of the service. If it is not worth it for you, you can try to use the homebrew system and use everything you already possess as hardcover with no cost.
Okay, so I'm DMing a campaign with content sharing on. The first 4 players made their characters with no problem but the 5th guy does not have access to a bunch of the content (backgrounds, feats, proficiencies, etc.) from standard access, purchased, and homebrew sources. He also cannot "claim" unassigned characters that I've put into the campaign for him. Help?

Is the player using the "join link" for the campaign?
On using that, it should prompt them to add a character, claim a character, or create a character.
Note that they will only gain use of shared content under these circumstances - if they try to create a character first, then join the campaign with it, they won't have access.

You need a purchase to unlock the feats.
D&D Beyond can be used for free and contains information from the following "free to use" sources published by Wizards of the Coast: D&D 5th edition SRD, D&D 5th edition Basic Rules, and Elemental Evil Companion.
Content from other sources, such as the Player's Handbook, Dungeon Master's Guide, or Monster Manual, will need to be purchased from the Marketplace or accessed via another user sharing content with you via their Master Tier Subscription.
Thanks

AHA! I got it. Thank you so much!
Hi
Hope this is the right place for this.

Thanks filcat
that helps a lot.
I have made a ring that allows me the war caster feat and it has appeared on my character sheet so hopefully i have done it right.
