Clicking on the Compendium and looking at the section for Races, the four races recently added from Elemental Evil are not in the small table of links to each race.
The races added today are (as you said) from the Elemental Evil Player's Companion and are not part of the Basic Rules or SRD.
This is the first content we have added that is from a source outside those, it just happens to be freely available. We won't add it to the Basic Rules landing page box because we want to keep that to the Basic Rules/ SRD.
For instance, once all the races from Volo's Guide to Monsters are added, we would never have room for all those in that box either. You will always be able to find all races under Characters > Races. Once additional sources are available there, you will be able to sort and filter by source (VGtM, PHB, EE, etc.).
That sounds like a good way to organize things so the compendium is the compendium and added things will have their proper places over time in the other sections. So far it appears like there is a good foundation and an organized way to add things. Well, done!
