the level 1 spell searing smite and the level 5 spell elemental weapon appear in the Forge Domain spell list for clerics in Xanathar's but do not show up in the character sheet spell list when managing spells or as already added for that subclass.

I just created a test forge domain cleric and it works as expected, with both Searing Smite and Elemental Weapon being on the spell list and prepared.
Do you own the Xanathar's content? Is it being shared with you via a campaign - if so, is the character in that campaign?
If you're not seeing these on your character sheet, please can you provide the URL of your character sheet (not the share link)?
