Make a character that can grab a Feat, choose Magic Initiate (Wizard), and then in the 3rd pull-down menu, choose your 1st level spell. Absorb Elements is not on the list.
It's there. You can even see it in the screenshot you posted. The dropdown is sorted by source and Absorb Elements isn't from the Player's Handbook, it's from Elemental Evil Player's Companion (later reprinted in Xanathar's Guide to Everything.)
Ah, then the real bug is: The interface organizes alphabetical information inconsistently.
The real solution is - this menu should order the entire menu alphabetically.
Another potential solution, which is labeling sections that are organized out-of-sequence, is really bad on web pulldown menus. (It creates 'dead' areas that don't submit any value, which isn't what it was designed for.) So, I wouldn't use it myself or suggest it to them.
The reason it is ordered by source, then alphabetically within source, is because in some situations-- Such as Adventurer's League -- you are required to limit your choices to the PHB and one additional source. I imagine once the DDB team allows proper Adventurer's League integration, which is on the road map, that this will change.

As the title says.

Absorb Elements is definitely a Wizard spell, though, going back all the way to its introduction in the Elemental Evil Companion.
Is this just me? HTH.
