Are you unable to remove the proficiency from the description, or from the mechanical aspect of the background (ie. when you make a character, they still gain the proficiency)?
So it seems it may have something to do with using the urban bounty hunter background as a template. Something seems to be carrying over from that even though I deleted all the previous tool proficiences and added new ones.
There is a known issue at the moment where, under certain circumstances, proficiencies can fail to show up when editing homebrew. This means that it's not possible to delete them.

Mechanical. In the editor it doesn’t show up anywhere that I can see, but it gives them the choice on the character.
In the editor you should see a "Tool Proficiencies" spot underneath "Skill Proficiencies". When you expand that drop down, what do you see?
Any ideas on what’s wrong?
