Problem with Ranger Proficiencies?

Hi, All. I'm trying to create a Ranger but when I go to select the Proficiencies for the class, Perception isn't listed even though it says 

Skills: Choose three from Animal Handling, Athletics, Insight, Investigation, Nature, Perception, Stealth, and Survival

Any ideas why it's not there? Thanks in advance!

What Race is the character? some races give Perception proficiency, reason why it might not be appearing in the Class Proficiency list choice.

I think that answers it. My friend chose Elf and they automatically get Perception. Duh. Thank you, LeK!
