I've been playing this game for a few years now and I've always enjoyed it. The creators made a really good way to come into this game as a new player with 5e and the content you produce is on the whole, really great. However, the way this game is sold online is absolutely abysmal. First of all there was nothing, so we were relying on other people to fill in the gaps. Then WotC finally come in with D&D Beyond, it was simply out of my price range, considering I'd already bought the hard copies too.
But now I go back to the character sheet I bought years ago from DMsGuild because I have a RL game I can host again finally. The creator who made that sheet has been told to strip everything useful from his PDF, so I can't build characters quickly anymore, so you try to force me to buy your very expensive online content. Content that should have been available from the beginning.
I bought a new campaign book recently, and still, no online copy or even a discount code for this online. I've bought student books at the same price (or even cheaper) that give away a free copy of their book online on their website with the code at the front of the book. Why is it that these online creators managed to make a printable character PDF that integrates all the content for <$5 and WotC and Curse expect me to pay nearly $200 for it (again)? Why not just make a printable character sheet for $5 and then you'd have way more people who would buy it?

You can print the character sheet of any character you've made for free (exported as a PDF).
IIRC, that sheet got nuked because it was giving away non-SRD content. The owner was smart enough to comply with a C&D letter, so nothing legal happened. You can only really get away with SRD content on stuff like that.

D&D Beyond and Curse, not being the owners of Dungeons & Dragons, have taken no action against any other content providers.
I suggest that if you have feedback for Wizards of the Coast, regarding their legal defence of their product, that you contact them directly.
