I just rolled a brand new Sorcerer and it specifically gets proficiency in Daggers, Slings, and Quarterstaff. The drop down in the Attacks pane even says so for Daggers and Slings: "Proficiency with a sling allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it." It does not list this for the Quarterstaff, however. And the Quarterstaff Attack bonus calculation is 2 lower than the dagger and the sling.
Halp?

Nevermind. I figured it out. The bonus is calculating correctly despite the weapon text not saying "Proficiency with a QUARTERSTAFF allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it."
The Dagger is a finesse weapon and there for using my higher DEX bonus compared to my Quarterstaff that uses my poopy STR bonus.
