Random characters are just that random, there are no checks and balances in place right now. It is possible to get some really whacky random characters. This was mentioned in the release notes.
Randomize
This will either make a completely random character (level, race, class, background, spells, etc.), or you can specify a few of those parameters. Keep in mind that these are completely random - this method will not create a necessarily optimized character. It might be fun to play with that kind of randomness though!
It should also be noted :
For the beta, only the rules and options provided in the D&D 5th edition SRD , D&D 5th edition Basic Rules, Elemental Evil Companion are available in Beyond. Once the full platform launches later this summer, the core rule books and others will be available for purchase, and the content within will be available for those that purchase, or have access through a DM's subscription.
I hope this helps in making this the supreme D&D supplement. While making a random fifth level human monk I found the following errors:
No equipment was selected
I had two feats selected that should not have been allowed - Grappler with Str 7, Svirfneblin Magic with human race selected
Under description - Alignment is Unknown, No faith or lifestyle is selected, and the only characteristic with info was size.
The idea behind this is fantastic and I look forward to owning the final product :)
If life is what you make of it, my amusement park is in the works.
Yeah, when I generate a random human character it always gives it Svirfneblin Magic as a feat.
