I recently leveled up and took the Duel Wielder feat - should be increasing my max AC by one when two melee weapons are equipped, but it isn't. I have one weapon equipped and set as "Display as Attack" under customize, and my second weapon equipped and set as "Display as Attack" and as "Dual Wield" per previous fixes I've seen online, but this still isn't increasing the AC.
The shield equipped is an Animated Shield - if its effect is active, then the shield doesn't need to be held and then two melee weapons can be held. Is there a way to toggle on/off the effect of the Animated Shield so that it reflects the correct AC when it is active or not?
Yup, the problem seems to be the Animated Shield; when that is unequipped, the AC reflects the correct Dual Wielder feat bonus, but I'm looking to have it show the "true" AC for when it is active AND two weapons drawn. Without a way to "activate" the shield effect on the character sheet, there's no way to reflect the correct AC from this feat while -also- keeping it equipped.
For example, I would start a battle holding 1 rapier in one hand and my Animated Shield in the other (AC 20 at this time). I then use a bonus action to activate the floating effect of the shield and draw my second rapier in the now free hand (bringing the AC to 21 at that time once the effect is active and two melee weapons are drawn). Looks like this is just something I'll have to keep track of outside of DND Beyond when playing.
You can track it on the character sheet by clicking on the AC shield on your sheet and adding in a Miscellaneous bonus of 1 AC when necessary. It's cumbersome but possible.

The character shows as having a weapon (Holy Avenger Rapier) and shield equipped currently.
You need to ensure that there are two melee weapons equipped and that at least one of them is customised to set the "dual wield" checkbox to checked.

There is not currently a way to mark temporary effects or activate effects of items.
In this situation, you could unequip/reequip one of your melee weapons, or the shield, to reflect when the shield is not active.
Just to make clear you are doing it right. You need 1 weapon normal equipped, 1 weapon equipped set to dual wield, and no shield.
