So I own everything for dnd beyond but anytime I try to link monsters in my dm notes word document it takes me to the beyond login and then the product page of what ever book the monster came from. The linking works with any of the free content in the basic rules but I would like to be able to link my purchased content as well.
It's possible that accessing the link from MS Word is using either Microsoft Explorer or Microsoft Edge browser to initiate the contact to D&D Beyond.
If that's not the browser that you're using, you could try logging into your account on one of (or both of) those Microsoft browsers to see if that resolves the problem.
I signed into Microsoft edge (dont have explorer loaded) and it didn't change anything. My default is chrome and that is where it tries to open the link but I get the login screen still.
I just tried a test and I get exactly the same as you. Odd, because you can see that I am logged in as well.
It's seems something odd with the way that MS word is invoking the url, because I saved that word doc as a PDF and can click on the links in it then just fine.
I don't know if that's an option that might work for you (save the word doc as PDF and use that)?
About half way down there is a section that says "Here's an easy fix" and there is a Download link. Close word, download and run that file, presto: you can now click links.
This worked for me on Office 365, though the article claims it should work on any version of word.
You are a lifesaver! I had just updated all 80 links in a randomisation table (we Conjure Animals partially at random at our table) only to find that only those links to the Basic Rules worked. After a minor heart attack (and eventually realising that it was all MS Office, and not just eXcel) I found your post that fixed my issue.

Try having DDB already open and signed in before using a link.
That was the case when it was not working

its not ideal but I guess it will have to do. Nice to know its not just me though thanks.
Hi. I found a solution to this and I can now click DnD Beyond links from Word:
Here is the article on it:

Amazing, can confirm it works beautifully
Thank you so much :)

You have my eternal gratitude!
Glad I could help. 🙂
