human variant replaces all ability score traits not all features you should still be able to be a member of a household and have the variant ability score traits
If your campaign uses the optional feat rules from the Player’s Handbook, your Dungeon Master might allow these variant traits, all of which replace the human’s Ability Score Increase trait.
I'm saying you should still be allowed to be a member of a household and use this because it only replaces ability score increase traits
In character building it does not give you that option
are you thinking that the "variant human" from the Player's Handbook should be able to be used to modify the variant humans from The Wayfinder's Guide to Eberron, such as the Mark of Making Human from House Cannith?
The human variants presented in Wayfinder's Guide to Eberron already replace the standard human ability scores, so the PHB variant cannot be applied to them.

The various "Mark of..." humans from the Eberron sourcebook have already had their human Ability Score Increase trait replaced, so it can't be replaced again.
if the oppositional traits are not allowed then the "mark of" humans need their own score traits but if the traits are allowed it doesn't say you can't use them for the "mark of" humans
it specifically says that this option is for the variant humans and the "mark of" humans are variant humans

They are not named “Variant Human”.
They are also not named "human" so the variant options aren't refering to them.

Look up human it says one basic and five variants, try again
1. Wayfinder's Guide to Eberron, the source of the dragonmarked humans, says, "For humans and half-orcs, a dragonmark is a variant race that replaces normal traits associated with those races." Furthermore, each dragonmarked human specifies that it replaces the human's Ability Score Increase trait, just like the Player's Handbook variant human does. Obviously, you can't replace one thing two times and keep both replacements.
2. What you want would be the most incredibly overpowered thing in the game by a pretty large margin, even beating out wish.

No. I'm done trying to explain the equivalent of how 1+1=2 does not mean 2+1=2.
A variant race is a variant of the base race, not a variant of any variant of that race. By your logic, we could be able to start with 3 feats by being a variant variant variant human, beacuse a variant human is a human and therefore can be a variant. It's asinine.

I don't want both ability score options but the choice of either

At this point, I think the most reasonable explanation is that we've been misunderstanding you this whole time, so I'm going to check.
What I think you're saying is that you want to play a human with the variant human's feat and skill, the features other than Ability Score Increase of one of the dragonmarked humans (such as the Mark of Handling's Wild Intuition, Expert Handling, Primal Connection, and The Bigger They Are), and the Ability Score Increase of either one of them.

What do you mean 'member of a household'? Are you talking about Eberron options?

Why not it's a human optional trait option
The option is still at the bottom of the human description after the other variants as a trait option
The eberron marked races are also variants (except when they are a subrace). You can't be a variant of a variant.
The variant human rules state:
The various "Mark of..." humans from the Eberron sourcebook have already had their human Ability Score Increase trait replaced, so it can't be replaced again.
