I'm considering making some purchases and I would like some help figuring out to what degree the current content sharing exists for people added to the campaign?
Assuming I pick up the Legendary Bundle and have a Master Tier subscription with full access granted to those added to the campaign, what do and don't those who are added to the campaign have access to:
Character creation options
Search/database access (spells, gear, etc.)
Being able to read the books
Mobile app access
Various other tools
Homebrew content
Or, anything else I may have missed or maybe important like lesser known limitations and such.
I don't believe they get access to everything through the Mobile App (at least not yet), nor would they get access to tools like the (Alpha) Encounter Builder.
They get full access to any of the digital content you own; rulebooks and adventures, both while building a character sheet and just on the site in general. You can share homebrew content through the campaign as well.
-character builder options would be available to them only for characters in the campaign in which you have turned on content sharing (i.e. not for all their characters--just for those in your campaign)
-on the website they will have access to the compendium, search access, etc. for everything you (or anyone else in the campaign) have purchased.
-I believe it is possible to download shared content into the app, but it does periodically make an online check to see if you have permission to access those items. But I can't be absolutely positive about that.
-homebrew you (or someone else in the campaign) make yourself will be shared, even without content sharing turned on.
-last I knew there were issues/bugs with sharing published homebrew with folks in the campaign; But it's been a while since I've seen posts about that, so it may have been addressed.
They are developing content management tools that would let you turn on/off specific sources when sharing content, but they aren't available yet.
characters in content sharing campaigns get access to all character options
Players (and DM) get access to all database content and books on DDB and the app.
Public homebrew added to your collection is shared to characters in content sharing campaign (private homebrew is shared even without content sharing).
Only the subscriber gets access to alpha tools (like encounter builder), unlimited characters, and the ability to add public homebrew to collection.
