I have made a Battle Smith artificer in a modern world setting who denies the existence of magic (part of his storytelling/growth will probably include having to admit to our sorcerer and druid that magic is real later in the campaign). With this in mind, I have been using inventions or real world items to explain his spellcasting such as white phosphorous for heat metal, Spider-Man web slingers for web, and syringes or stimulants for spells like cure wounds and heroism. Warding bond is a spell I want to stock, but haven't been able to think of a good way to explain how to use it in a way that is non magical or a reasonable invention for it. Any fun and creative suggestions are welcome and appreciated!
A pair of holter sensors devices that bond each other senses by some sort of wireless signal. As they have a slightely shared neural perception, they have a AC and saves bonus but at the same time they share pain (justifying the divided damage). They also can't go far than 60 ft. each other becouse cheap aerials lol
