After looking around a lot of people see this as a low quality multiclass but I want more opinions.
I plan on making a firbolg lvl 3 artificer and then adding barbarian from there. The main reason people say it doesnt work is because artificers can use int for melee attacks rather than str but other people have said its optional and that a high str character mid int could still work.
I just think a firbolg raging whilst duel weilding a massive enhanced warhammer (i want to flavour this as like rocket powered or arcane explosions propelling it to be faster) would be sick. Especially with a steel pet to help lower the risk of using wreckless attacks.
Please give me guidance I'm very new to dnd overall and need help lol
IMHO, Artillerist with the Protector cannon, or Armorer with the Taunt ability are better choices for Barbarian/Artificer (Barbificer). Also, Dual Wielding will cause you a conflict with your Bonus Action for commanding the Steel Defender. If you want to dual wield, the Armorer's Thunder Gauntlets are good.
