I understand that the ability description lists specific items that can be replicated but I assume the list can't be exhaustive, new items are being added all the time. Is there anything preventing you from crafting other items not listed, with DM approval?
I have always thought of this ability as an easy way to get certain useful items (like a Bag of Holding) on demand but I realized that there isn't anything preventing a level 9+ Armorer from making the helm of his armor into a Cap of Water Breathing, is there? At a high enough level, could your boots be Boots of Speed and your helmet a Helm of Telepathy? Could your Thunder Gauntlets be Gauntlets of Ogre Power?
How does that work for items that are less specific on their location? Could your armor have a Periapt of Wound Closure built into it or an Amulet of Health?
The DM could approve anything, but by RAW, you're limited to the items listed under the ability.
Note that it does include, potentially, "every Common magic item" that's not a scroll or potion (and there's an argument to be made that it should also not be a tattoo, but that's a separate debate). And the list of Common magic items does keep going up.
