Would an AI steel defender be a good idea? For any DMs out there, would you let you players have one?

I have succesfully wasted your time!😀
Commanding nothing less than the power to create life, many battle smiths turn their genius toward forging technologically remarkable puppies and kitties.
As the Steel Defender is (in most cases) an artificial creature in itself an can act on its own (at least while you're unconcious) or under your command it is pretty much an artificial intelligence. Now if you're asking whether DMs would allow a steel defender having a kind of ChatGPT/Siri/Alexa/whatever AI as controller of the SD it's very much up to the DM and the campaign. I imagine a "ChatGPT-Bot" with a display for a face would feel pretty much out of place in Faerun, but it could work in more advanced settings or if you "magicify" it in something like Eberron.

I'm not totally sure I understand the question. What separates an "AI Steel Defender" from a regular Steel Defender?
