I'd like to propose that the Lightning Launcher used by the Armorer Artificer subclass be updated to include the light weapon property when it is released in Eberron.
Thematically and mechanically, this makes sense. The Lightning Launcher doesn't necessarily require a hand to wield— it can be integrated directly into the chest piece of the armor, as described in the subclass features. This means it doesn't have to occupy a hand slot, yet it's still treated as a weapon for attacks.
Adding the light property would:
Improve synergy with dual-wielding mechanics and feats like Two-Weapon Fighting.
Allow smoother interaction with bonus action attacks and off-hand weapon use.
Reflect the unique nature of the Lightning Launcher as a compact, integrated weapon.
This change would enhance build flexibility without disrupting balance, and better reflect the flavor of the Armorer subclass. I might be late to the party on this, so if I am, then if or when WotC makes the artificer in a non-eberron sourcebook, please include it then. Thanks for considering!
