I am using the Blind from Birth Background found in the Homebrew section. Blindsense and Tremorsense are a Feature. One of the starting items is a Clicking Device for Echolocation. The DM has authorized me to start off with a Magical Item if needed to make this work. (Nothing too crazy, like it making perfect mental images into my brain or anything) I'd like to keep it simple if possible.
I had the idea of being gifted this item from an Artificer as part of my background. I have no experience with Artificers, including the scope of their capabilities. Figured I would stop by here for some advice. Below are some things that are necessary for what I am going for.
Needs to be sufficient for use of echolocation
Needs to a considered a magical item to gain the benefits of it not being broken easily
The Artificer needs to no longer be required/relevant for its use
Can't be Armor or a Weapon
As a Barbarian, I would like the item to be aesthetically themed to my character, but its not a deal breaker.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! If this outside an Artificers capabilities, I suppose any suggested item could have been made by something else.
