I've had this idea for my Artificer, but I wanna know if people think it makes sense. At level 14, when I can use magic items regardless of attunement requirements, I figure that I could infuse a gauntlet with the Armblade infusion to get a wrist-mounted sword. I think this would be a really solid combo with the infiltrator armor model, making it an all around, well rounded build. I feel like it really should make sense for anyone to be able to wield such a gauntlet, but I don't want to push the rules too much. Really curious to know what you think this is reasonable or if I'm grasping too much.
As always: Ask your DM. But my opinion: I would allow it, at least for you. Giving it to other players I probably would allow it, since it isn't a very strong Item (and by lvl 14 there are probably better options for most people. The only thing it would help is making it a magic weapon and being able to conceal it maybe. But remember: Armblade still uses your hand while extended.
That said: I think the way to go would be to make Arcane Propusion Arm and go full force DMG on your enemys instead ;)
Thanks for your opinion! And yeah I know it uses a hand. It pretty much purely for the asthetic/flavor.
For the Propulsion Arm, that's an interesting idea. Since this idea is for the Infiltrator armor model, the ranged option is already covered, so not a huge deal. And the thing I need to ask my DM is if I infuse my gauntlets with Armblade, is it applied to just one gauntlet or both, like the Gautlets of Ogre power is one enchantment but on a pair of gauntlets. If I can do both gauntlets, then I'd most likely go Armblade with shortswords so I can get that two-weapon fighting.

Arcane Propulsion Arm can still be used as a 1d8 weapon, but ofc if cou want two weapon fighting shortswords might be a better way.
Yeah for sure. I just loooooove the idea of wrist mounted blades with a suit of power armor haha
