With Tasha's this brings an interesting set of things a level 1 Barbarian can do to be broken. With Custom Lineage, it is possible to get an 18 Strength with Point Buy or Standard Array. You pick a +2 to strength and pick the Crusher feat (which adds +1 to strength or con, and when you hit a creature with bludgeoning damage you can move it 5 feet to an unoccupied direction, plus if you crit with a bludgeoning), so imagine this, you have Maul (2d6), and while raging that is 2d6+6 damage, if you hit your first attack, move it with Crusher feat five feet in front of you that provokes an opportunity attack. If both attacks hit your averaging 24 damage a turn, at level 1. In addition, if you have a light hammer you can throw it and knock an enemy off a wall or cliff to instantly kill it basically.
Granted you still get outclassed by pretty much every spellcaster at 5th level, but it still seems absolutely broken for a 1st level character and it baffles me that it is AL legal. Is it broken?
it's really not all that broken at all. And you may or may not have lost a bunch of other stuff doing the lineage thing that could have been potentially useful that aren't always something you can get back in other ways because of your race. The Tasha's lineage thing is a double edged sword that people are a little too enamored by.
Going along with what Fateless said, I don't think you can get a normal +2/+1 and still be (RAW) able to get the (presumably) variant human feat. I haven't looked at the two things closely but that's my gut assumption

I know what you're thinking: "In that flurry of blows, did he use all his ki points, or save one?" Well, are ya feeling lucky, punk?

The new Tasha's custom race can start with 17 in a stat and a feat, so if you take a +1 stat feat, you can come out the gate at stat 18. It's honestly relatively weaker than a post-Tasha's mountain dwarf or half-elf, but prior to level 4 that weakness matters less.

Well, you're only raging once per day so you won't always deal that much. So, let's say it's more like 11 (2d6+4) per swing.
Opportunity Attacks don't happen as a result of forced movement outside of your turn. Moving them with the Crusher feat isn't going to give you, or anyone else, a free attack against them.
But good eye on the trick with the light hammer. It doesn't have a lot of range, but it's a valid tactic.

Unless my brain has suddenly broke, which I admit is a possibility in my fogged state. Anything past minor adjustments, many of which they basically allowed for in some way already, such as moving a stat bonus to a different stat or changing one type of proficiency to another. it's basically variant human in design but you can also pick up a very basic racial that variant human doesn't get like darkvision but you get nothing else that the rest of the race would actually have if you want the feat.

Still, level one barbarians are pretty good, albeit repetitive.
