I've been thinking ahead to the new Feywild book coming out this fall ... likely a Level 1-8 adventure. If Rabbitfolk makes it into the book. I have this idea to make a Wild Magic Barbarian Rabbitfolk. He was found as a youngster (perhaps in the Feywild?) by an old wizard/magician, who then raised him. He grew to be an unusually strong Rabbitfolk. He served as the wizard's protector, companion, and confidant. Before his death, the wizard gifted a spellbook and familiar to the Rabbitfolk (Ritual Caster feat at Level 1). [My DM allows Level 1 feats for all characters.] So the character is now a strong adventurer (with a great sword or great axe) with some limited (sometimes unpredictable) magic skills. His rages are bursts of rabbit energy, not anger-based. I've also considered multi-classing into Genie warlock, which would provide the ability to hide/rest in a top hat (hah! magician's rabbit!). Or perhaps I could multi-class into Wizard for spells that don't rely much on my spell-casting ability (Longstrider, Jump, Disguise Self, False Life, Feather Fall, etc.).
I would be very interested to hear about other people's experiences combining Wild Magic Barbarian with Ritual Caster, Genie Warlock, or Wizard. What was your concept? What worked and didn't work well? How many levels of Barbarian did you take before multi-classing? Thanks so much!
I have been thinking about a "Professor Hulk" type barbarian, and I think that if you wanted the best synergy with being a barbarian, multiclassing into either Bladesinger or War Magic would work well. Although it would take a few turns to work, you bladesong and rage can be active at the same time but you would be limited to using one-handed weapons, lowering your damage output. For War Magic, you can use the 2nd level Arcane Deflection ability while raging to boost your AC or a saving throw in a critical moment. Either choice would let you pick up those passive buff spells as well.
If I were making either of these builds, I wouldnt go far beyond 2nd or 3rd level in wizard as most of the other subclass features wont synergize with barbarian really well. I could see going up to at least the point where you get third level spells, though, for your build since as a Wild Magic barbarian you can eventually restore 1d3 spell slots to creatures.

I like the concept for a feywild campaign!
I would focus on spells that are passive buffs/utility that do not require concentration (Longstrider, Jump, Find Familar, etc...)
How you get these is up to you but I would suggest Magic Initiate in either Wizard or Druid.
