I've seen similar threads but I'm wondering what specifically are good subclasses you guys think of for this mix. I've though of zealot, ancestral guardian, and maybe tempest cleric or something else entirely. He is a half orc former adventurer who was basically a classic barbarian in his younger days, big rager, angry, partier, was in an adventuring group and all that, won a ton of gold and lived rich for a while. He didn't live the greatest or cleanest lifestyle for year, before finally deciding to go straight. He retired and settled down in his middle years, marrying a human woman and having a daughter, and becoming the owner of a tavern. He lived on the straight and narrow, fixing drinks, telling stories, and running the inn happpily. One day, a group of upstart adventurers came in, made trouble, and he kicked them out. That night they got super drunk and angry, came back after closing and ransacked the place, burning it. The orc's wife died in the fire, and he killed one of the adventurers, scaring the rest off. His young daughter saw the whole thing, but survived. The orc bartender faced several years in prison, with time off for compliance, but in the process his daughter abandoned him. After his release he turned to the priesthood, seeking answers. He became a cleric of Tyr, and now seeks a path to peace and some sort of rest, a way to earn penance for his wild younger days, but eventually retire once more and reunite with his daughter.
So with that any subclass suggestions would be welcome. For starters here are his stats (all bonuses and stuff included):
Totem Warrior + Peace Domain might be quite fun. You could in combat on the first turn cast Spiritual Weapon then activate Emboldening Bond (a poor man's version of Bless), nether of which messes with your Rage. Speaking of which, second turn you Rage with a Bear Totem and go to town on your enemies. Protective Bond at Cleric 6 just adds to the fun, any non psychic damage you take for your ally is halved from your Totem Rage.
Peace Domain also fits the theme of your character seeking a path to peace.
I briefly considered building a Tempest Cleric/Storm Herald Barbarian mostly for the Tempest Cleric's first level Wrath of the Storm Ability combined with the Storm Soul: Sea ability to fire lightning as a bonus action round-after-round. That way you're just dealing lightning damage constantly, since you can release lightning as a bonus action every round and you gain a reaction that deals lightning damage.
I was planning for just a single level dip into Cleric... it's hard to really take advantage of a spellcaster multiclass with Barbarian, but with a single level dip you can easily focus on just nabbing a few utility spells that would be useful out of combat, and maybe a ranged damaging cantrip for those moments when enemies are just out of range. It might be worth it to level up to third level just to get second level spells... there's a few pretty useful ones there, and if nothing else you can always just cast Aid once per day for the little HP boost, but really you're getting the most useful features at level 1 and the further you go into Cleric the harder it's going to be to balance out the incompatibility with Rage.

yeah. I'm thinking about zealot/war cleric, and doing at least 3 of each, but probably heavy barbarian.
I agree with Magi. I like Bear Totem Barb 6/ Peace Cleric 3 for this. Start the build with a level of cleric for wisdom and charisma saves (your mind is significantly weaker than your body). Take Great Weapon Master with your ASI to synergize with Emboldened Bond. Warding Bond is a fun non-concentration spell you can throw on someone before a fight to absorb a lot of damage. Anticipating battles so that you can precast these effects will be key.
