Stats are as follows: STR: 19 DEX: 14 CON: 17 INT: 7 WIS: 13 CHA: 12 Mountain Dwarf Ancestral Guardian
I can't decide whether getting +1 STR and CON is better then getting a feat such as Squat nimbleness which gets me 5ft extra movement and +1 STR but its other features are less then appealing. but it will allow me to at level 8 get Mobile and have 50ft movement speed as a dwarf
I was considering getting GWM but I decided its not worth it since my main feature relies on HITTING my target
I also considered Sentinel but that directly clashes with spirit shield so its pointless.
I would recommend +1 STR and +1 CON. Also, if you aren't the only damage-dealer in the party, I would have recommended putting CON at 19 so you could round it out to 20 at level 4. Not only does it start to pile-on insane amounts of HP, but your AC would be 19 with a shield and your +2 DEX modifier. The reasoning for this is based on your choice as Ancestral Guardian.
Making yourself as large and tough as possible makes keeping the big-bad monster focused on you with Ancestral Protectors while you and your allies wear it down. With the use of Spirit Shield at Level 6 and imposing disadvantage from Protectors, there's no real reason that a monster you're hitting should be swinging at anyone except you. This allows your party to clear-out the other enemies or wear down the massive creature that's facing-off against you.
Can I ask why you're trying to get 50ft movement speed? As far as I can see, Ancestral Guardian is designed more to keep the attention of a single creature, as opposed to trying to be everywhere on the battlefield. With more movement speed, all I see is a lot of Attacks of Opportunity as you're jetting about.
At level 8, I would recommend ASI to get your CON from 18 to 20 or Tough to get an extra 16 HP + 2 per future level. Rolling a d12 and adding 7 (+5 from CON, +2 from Tough) starts to add up real fast. Get a lucky roll and you're adding 15-19 HP each level.
thats what I love get that CON to 20 ASAP it helps you out with AC as well as health, The Tough feat is also goodness. If you have a CON of 20 and the tough feat your HP from con is 180 health for as total HP if your using fixed health is 325 health. And If you get your dex to 20 your AC is gonna belooking at 22/24 with normal shield. or even 26 with Bracers of defense, Ring of protection, cloak of protection which means OMFGNESS lol.
