I have been thinking about this for a while; How do I create a fat barbarian and make a build that would be able to reflect that in terms of gameplay? I don’t mean just pudgy. I mean the kind of huge and heavy that would make most sumo wrestlers look underweight, while still being mobile. What are some potential gameplay changes that would reflect that as well (like consuming twice as many rations, for example)?
Also, the races I want to use for this build are Lizardfolk, Dragonborn, and Half-Orc. How would people react, in universe, to a fat barbarian of each of those races, respectively?
I think it would be too racially uncharacteristic for a Lizardfolk or Dragonborn to be obese.
I think a Half-Orc, or Human could work, but maybe Goliath would have to be the ideal race, they even count as Large "when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift."
I think for genuine gameplay changes revolving around that, perhaps something like disadvantage on most acrobatics checks, stealth checks in certain situations, and a couple other things.
Also maybe take a few feet of movement away early on - at least until unarmored movement improvements come in.
For a fun idea on building yourself like that, you could max CON over STR.
