Ok starting on Wednesday, I will be joining a campaign as a level 3 Bear Totem Barb. The DM said this campaign has possibility of going to about level 15; so am looking towards the future of possible builds for character. Now as part of back story my character will have great fascination with bears as they are symbol of her religion. So was looking at possibly looking at future multi-class into Druid and use Wild Shape to transform into a bear. From what I read you'd have to Wild Shape first then could Rage and get befits of Rage while as a bear? That is correct?
A second idea is another player is playing Sorcerer so if they cast Polymorph on my character turning into a bear, could I rage after the Polymorph takes effect would or would I need to be raging before the spell is cast?
You can rage while in wildshape or wildshape while in a rage, there is no problem (other than you can't go into wildshape and rage in the same turn if you're a Moon druid, because that woold be two bonus actions). Wildshape allows you to use class/race features while in wildshape, you just can't cast spells. Rage does prevent you from casting spells and concentrating, but wouldn't stop you from wildshaping since it's not a spell.
If Polymorph is cast on you it's different since polymorph replaces your stats and features and you'll be limited to what your new form can do. That means you'd have to rage first then get Polymorph cast on you (can't do it yourself ofc, since Rage prevents you from casting and concentrating on spells).
I would add that while it works just fine your damage output won't be as high as a full barbarian would be, but it yan be a playable build. (btw while in wildshape you can use class features such as unarmored defense, so you can calculate your AC with that, which gives almost all beasts a bit more AC)

Moon Druids can still Wildshape as an action if they want to. They GAIN the ability to do so as a Bonus Action, but they don't LOSE the standard Druid ability to do it as an Action.
In my first campaign we had a Druid/Barb who would Wildshape while Raging. It was a fun combo, effectively doubling the beast form's HP.
