Just like the title mentions I'm wondering if you announce you are making reckless attack and forgoing advantage and still crit can you double the 1d10 from brutal strike. I'm seeing all kinds of different info on the subject and was hoping for clarification.
Yes. Any effect that adds "extra" damage to the hit will be doubled if it involves damage dice. Flat damage numbers do not get doubled. So Sneak Attack and Divine Smite are doubled, but an Assassin's Assasinate feature (adds damage equal to Rogue level to Sneak Attacks in first round) would not.
Like the other players have chimed in, yes you can. To add, it would be like if you use a Sunblade and crit against undead and get additional 1d8 radiant damage (would get doubled).
Or if using 2024, Goliath feature 1d10, etc
