Am I just a dummy? I can't figure out how to switch from path of the berserker to the totem warrior stuff. I'm trying to recreate my current pen/paper sheet on this site, but I'm hitting that road block.
Under Primal Path, my only option is path of the berserker. From what I read in the FAQ, all the stuff from the player's handbook was supposed to be available in the character creator.
What if I already have those books? Is there a way to add proof of that to my account somehow? I really despise re-buying the same exact book again and again and again.

Fair enough. In that case, my constructive criticism would be this: It would be easier for some users (like me) to see purchase options mid-character creation. For example, if the dropdown list to choose the primal path, there were options that linked to the store to add them to my collection or something. Otherwise, my previous reaction was to just get frustrated and assume everything was still in beta. And my most recent reaction was to come here and bug people on the forums.

Thanks for the super fast responses!
Ooh! Have a "show ads for locked content" switch on the same page as all the other switches, so people can pick whether or not they want to see that on a character-by-character basis!

I was also caught by this. I started character creation befor my friend shared content and I had access to the full PHB.
It would have been very nice to have some kind of note telling me why I could not find Forest Gnome as an option. I spent a good bit of time starting over thinking it was my mistake.
I found the answer and waited for the shared content.
I love the character genaerator and it has pushed me to consider buying my own Hero class membership.

How does that shared access thing work? It almost sounds like one person out of your group of friends can buy the content, and then some number of you can all use it to create characters? If that's how it works, I know for a fact my group would make that happen.

That's how it works, but it requires a Master Tier subscription, the number of characters per campaign is 12, and it works with up to 3 campaigns.

Exactly as Matthias said. One person buy a Master Tier subscription and can share access with upto 12 other free accounts. Each free account has the ability to make and use upto 6 characters.
The other part of this is the need to have purchased the materials. The books also need to be purchased. That can be done by anybody in the group of 13 and still be shared through the one master tier subscription. So not one person gets saddled with the need to buy all of the source material for the group.
Material can also be purchased individually. Say you only wanted to buy the Totem Warrior info and not the entire PHB...totally doable....and you can share that with others in your group.
And if you decide to purchase the PHB later the money you spent on the Totem Warrior is deducted from the cost of the PHB at the time of purchase. There will be other material added down the road beyond what is currently available.
It is a well thought plan. And the DM has a greater amount of info on hand to help run the game. I am happy so far. Looking forward to the mobile app.

You need to purchase on the Marketplace.
D&D Beyond can be used for free and contains information from the following "free to use" sources published by Wizards of the Coast: D&D 5th edition SRD , D&D 5th edition Basic Rules and Elemental Evil Companion.
Content from other sources, such as the Player's Handbook, Dungeon Master's Guide or Monster Manual will need to be purchased from the Marketplace or accessed via a Master Tier Subscription.

I purchased the PHB but can't seem to be able to choose Totem Warrior as a level 3 barbarian. Do you know why?
Silly question but, did you purchase the PHB on D&D Beyond or a physical copy of the PHB?
