My Variant Human Barbarian has a high Constitution but mediocre Dexterity so my AC is not too high, I thought if it is a wise idea to make an armor that has an appearance of Hide armor (since you're a Barbian) but doesn't actually count as armor so that you can keep the Unarmored Defense feature. I thought if it could give you a +2 to your AC?
I wanted to hear everybody's thoughts, so post away.
Hello everybody,

I'd ask the DM before attempting any homebrew. As for raising your AC there is always the option of using a shield.
Out of curiosity what feat are you taking with variant human?
Great Weapon Master, I tend to have a two-handed weapon build when I play a Barbarian

Just say you wear some furs as clothes. That's all you need to do.

I'll worldbuild for your DnD games!
Just a D&D enjoyer, check out my fiverr page if you need any worldbuilding done for ya!
Besides, there are items that already do that! Bracers of Defense and Cloak of Protection let you keep the Unarmored Defense feature!
Maybe you ask your DM if he makes certain items available in the campaign. You should talk to him/her regardless. In the end, it is the DMs decision.
Yeah, I think you're right.
Thanks
