If a barbarian/cleric multiclass casts warding bond on another character before raging, would the barbarian/cleric only take 1/4th damage instead of 1/2th the damage death to the target of warding bond?
Its a tricky ruling, since technically Warding Bond doesn't specify a damage type for what you are meant to take. The damage can't be "untyped" since that is specifically not a thing (jeremy crawford has mentioned that damage can't be untyped on his twitter), so the logical assumption then is you do carry over the damage type.
It would be neat for a war cleric/zealot barb as one of things they can do with concentration while raging. This is the big one that I think could really conflict.
Also Resistance can only be applied one per instance of damage (PHB 197 , also Jeremy Crawford) so you couldn't take 1/4 of damage. If the Cleric casting Warding Bond had resistance against the type of damage he'd take via Warding Bond he would be able to reduce it again. So the Cleric could take 1/4 of the original damage because the instance of damage you take because of warding Bond is a different one than the first.

You’re right about concentration. Not sure what I was smoking there.
Warding Bond, like Sanctuary, doesn't require concentration; that's just one of the awesome things about those spells, so it doesn't matter if you later go into rage.
Warding Bond is an interesting spell mechanically, as the resistance for the target is just a mechanism for halving their share of the damage; the damage they take is then also applied as new damage to the caster, so the caster can apply any resistances of their own to it.
On the other hand, the way it works has a downside if you ever encounter anything that can bypass resistances, as not only will the target take full damage, so will the caster, meaning a resistance bypass actually causes warding bond to double the total damage! For this reason it's a good idea to be extra careful that any ally with Elemental Adept doesn't get turned against you 😉
But what about the barbarian who has a teammate cleric cast it upon him then he rages does the barbarian apply resistance twice? If the cleric also had resistance he is only take the damage the barbarian takes and there for haved but does the barbarian 1/4 the damage and the cleric halve that.?

No, resistances do not stack.
That is why I was asking if the cleric/barbarian multiclass could rage to apply a single instance of resistance to the damage they would receive through warding bond.
The damage the Barbarian would get is halved due to the effect on the ally and gets halved due to rage on the Barbarian, so the resistance effect isnt stacked (when its piercing/bludg/cutting damage. Bear Totem Barb is all damage except Force i believe)
So the resistance against damage of a Barbarian isnt stacked. So when an ally get 20 piercing damage, it would get halved due to Warding Bond.
So the ally and Barbarian get 10 damage (due to the resistance of the spell on the ally)
And the Barbarians' rage would reduce the damage to 5. Since the resistance effect of Warding Bond isnt on the Barbarian.

Warding Bond isn't a Concentration Spell. It just has an hour duration. :D
Just to say the warded creature does get resistance to everything...everything...so a very nice spell...better than the Bear totem Barbarian even.
The barbarian/cleric should be able to resist the damage taken. A Dev did answer me in that sense when i asked back in 2014 ;
