Thank you very much! This is very interesting indeed. I think it doesn't really hurt allowing the bard to be included in the effect and doesn't sound really exploit-y :) but I guess this AMA session helps clarifying the question!
Personally, I DM for a Bard of Glamour who we allow to include himself and it's a very useful tactical move and he uses it a lot but it's only ever increased fun and made the game more interesting. I don't think it's gamebreaky or anything at all.
