Looking for song inspiration for my Tiefling Lucien Trashmetal. He used to be a worldfamous rockstar, but mysteriously disappeard 15 years ago. Now he came back, but only older folks remember him.
For context: he plays a thunderlute, with Thunderstruck by AC/DC as his Thunderwave song. I don't really know what to call his style, but it's mostly based off of that song.
For anything with the flute, I recommend Jethro Tull. Well, tbh, I only know a handful of his works, but some are well known. The one that came to my mind, regarding Enthrall, was Bouree. Just look at that. Find me a guard that won't get distracted by this show. If you want it a little more energetic, the non-live version is similar, but a little more energetic near the middle. The bass part is also pretty cool.
For dissonant whispers, play the beginning of this, or really any part of it. May not be a flute, nor related to Thunderstruck, but nothing is more dissonant than RotS.
I'm not totally clear on if you're asking for flute-specific songs, but if you don't play/sing Careless Whispers when you cast Dissonant Whispers I'll be disappointed lol
Edit: Comprehend Language just being your character singing the ABC's song, would also be hilariously fantastic

This would be so great haha.
I haven't really looked in to other genres, as I pictured him as just a rockstar. His background story is famous rockstar gone missing for 15 years, so only the older people really remember him. (Think like the stereotypical British rockers). So not necessarily flute songs.
Picture his describing song as Sympathy for the Devil.
ahh okay I see now, I totally somehow missed that you were looking for some rock-specific songs.
I know you were looking for a flute-like song for Enthrall, but Foreigners 'I want to know what love is" would be fitting as well. Livin' on a Prayer for either Cure Wounds or Lesser Restoration. If you're open to some funk, Superstious by Stevie Wonder would be fitting for any of thaumatergy or prestidigitation. Highway to Hell for Hellish Rebuke.
If you want more Rock listen to the Beck, Bogert Appice version of Superstition (Beck and Stevie wrote it together, Beck was supposed to release it first but Stevie's management got it first). Both great songs.

Yes I love that song

Hello folks,
Looking for song inspiration for my Tiefling Lucien Trashmetal.
He used to be a worldfamous rockstar, but mysteriously disappeard 15 years ago.

His other spells as of right now;
Blade Ward
Prestidigitation
Thaumaturgy
Vicious Mockery
Comprehend Languages
Cure Wounds
Dissonant Whispers
Enthrall (for this I was hoping flute songs, as his other instrument is a pied piper-like flute)
Hellish Rebuke
Lesser Restoration
Phantasmal Force
And Bardic Inspiration for his Gnome Rogue & Dragonborn Druid party members.
Thanks :D
Do you want real world songs or fantasy-inspired songs just for DnD?

Highway to Hell seems like an obvious one if you like AC/DC

Across the Stars from Star Wars would sound great on a flute

For cure wounds and lesser restoration he could play Kickstart my Heart
"Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen" - 1 Timothy 1:17
Not really the style you're after but any healing spell could be 'Staying Alive'
