I have a thought about using Enthrall on a Glamour Bard.
If you lead your group into the baddies but prior to battle commencing, could you not use Disguise Self, then Enthrall to gain the attention of just about all of them? If so, you can then pop unbreakable majesty so they cannot attack you much, followed by Mantles of majesty and/or inspiration and even use enthralling performance.
Since there is no save after the initial wisdom save you should be able to make things very difficult for the enemy to even see what your team is doing to the rest of their side... or am I giving too much credit to perception here?
I know that there are other ways of doing this, but just for kicks it looks like a fairly viable battle field control that could affect large numbers of bad guys assuming they fail Wis saving throw.
I really like this idea! I had a similar idea but didn’t fully develop it. I do think that would be a drain on spell slots but the pros make up for the cons
Actually, it's only two spells, disguise self and Enthrall. The other options I used were all features of the Glamour subclass. all can be got back on a short rest. It's a fun thought anyway.
A different fun try would be to glam up and get someone charmed, then have them accept a "blessing" of a feign death. Once they accept it from you they are basically stunned (with resistance to all damage) for a full hour. Your team could carve em up, shove em in a hole to suffocate, or just tie em up to interrogate. Once they accept the "blessing" they get no saves. Heck, you don't even have to maintain concentration.
I knew the subclass was good, but this is kinda hilarious. It has thousands of ways to charm people too. I feel like it’d be really funny to fraud people out too with command, by making them sign papers. I really want to try this now!
I'm working on a build right now for one. He's gonna be a snake oil salesman selling elixirs to the masses. Just trying to figure out how to get goodberry so I can put the juice into the bottles. Throw in Herbalism and you aren't even selling bad concoctions to the ppl. I figure this would help sell the product if the ppl felt feed and slightly better right off. Then the crowd would all join in particularly when I have several charmed ppl in that crowd helping me sell to their neighbors. :)
I'm thinking of Hexblood with a 2 level dip in artificer. That gets me Con saving throw, the servant, decent AC (18), Hex and even booming blade so he can Hex/Dissonant Whispers/Boom when he has to fight.
It has a lot of potential, certainly. The trick is convincing the NPCs you meet that you are somebody to be listened to for a full minute. Entralling Performance needs a full minute to activate. This kind of trick is best if you don't fight much undead or high INT spellcasters AND the rest of the party can somehow NOT look hostile. If you are going into potentially hostile groups without back-up this could easily backfire.
Absolutely there is potential for all sorts of danger while trying to pull this off. Without it, there would be no fun. :)
Enthrall is the spell that makes it so all eyes are on the character (60 ft and all creatures you want in that range... so 60 ft pbaoe if I read it right).
Then again some helpful spells to make some of this go will be potentially needed.
Friends cantrip. Good only for one minute and then they know you did something but by then you have charmed them and should be a no foul. (An aside, I want to try Friends with intimidate... sounds like so much fun.)
Disguise self. Now you can get in looking like a townie.
Stealthing/invisibility into hearing range so you can mimic them would be nice if you have actor feat. Tongues and/or Comprehend Languages would help here.
Eventually, a Globe of Invulnerability or Wall spell might be needed for emergencies. In my current build there is even Sanctuary (only a 13 wisdom check though) which adds onto his AC for defense.
I could even see some fun with Enthrall and then Antipathy/Sympathy but I gotta flesh that out a bit.
Team can be stealthing, cutting down back row cuz all eyes are on my character (DM approval, of course), stealing, etc.

What do you all think?

The rest is all Con man... er, bard.
