Looking for thoughts on what you , if a DM might allow from the suggestion spell. My Bard is Eloquince and I'm hoping to influence the post war campaign were in with suggestions like" For you to gain the love of the people Lord so and so you should give away all of your wealth to the people of your town!
Or in battle, before we attack a foe....Trade me all of your gear for this precious dagger I received from the Queen of the Summer Court in the Fey Wild.
Any ways id love to hear other ideas and what the limits of this spell might be.
Suggestion can be quite powerful for turning the tide of combat at a critical time. Keep in mind, though, a *reasonable* suggestion depends a lot on your DM who will consider your PC's past relationship to this NPC you want to charm, and that creature's perception of your Bard at the moment you cast the spell, and personality of the NPC. "Give away all your wealth" is less likely to convince an already greedy or corrupt noble or merchant unless they perceive some tangible benefit to themselves, even if it's just emotional. Does this person already care about what "the people" think of them?
"Trade me all your gear" would probably be too generous for someone who already considers you their foe. It's much more likely to work on someone who is not hostile towards you. They might willingly trade you one item, though, if your antagonism is purely circumstantial rather than personal.
