I played a one shot where I created Guybrush Threepwood as a College of Swords bard, and so I just lifted all of his insult sword fighting lines from the game. Nothing like yelling out "You fight like a cow!" at a Beholder! LOL!
The character I'm plannigng to play is a tiefling warlock/bard. She's about to level up to level 3 Bard soon and are planing on choosing Collage of Lore, therefore i would appreciate some ideas for cutting words ^^
Human. Male. Possibly. Don't be a divider. My characters' backgrounds are written like instruction manuals rather than stories. My opinion and preferences don't mean you're wrong. I am 99.7603% convinced that the digital dice are messing with me. I roll high when nobody's looking and low when anyone else can see.🎲 “It's a bit early to be thinking about an epitaph. No?” will be my epitaph.
I’ve found a lot of success with referencing other PCs in my mocks. So like, start laughing, “You’re really going to attack us? That barbarian just skewered you’re boss like a stuck pig! You’re screwed.”
Basically double down on the support role by making everyone else feel more badass while also demoralizing enemies into missing.
But what I usually do for cutting words or tashas hideous laughter (I'm playing a Bardlock) is look up insults on google real quick in the middle of the game. I just google "dragon jokes" or "dragon insults" if we're fighting a dragon, and so on.
If you are using cutting words on an attack against yourself you can sing "can't touch this, na na na na" and do a freaky dance.
I am currently playing a Lore bard myself and am using mainly Vicious Mockery, Hideous laughter and Cutting words, and therefore I have a little list of jokes, insults and distractions, in that order.
That said, I dont play it so serious, my Insults for Vicious Mockery are mostly just zingers like "You wouldnt hit a barn door if you stand a meter away!" and stuff, my jokes for THL are all anti jokes like "Why are Spectres bad liars? They are too transparent!" and when it comes to distractions for Cutting Words, I often go with stuff like "Hey, is that a naked elf?" "Hey, your fly is open!" or my favorite "Look, a Distraction!".
I'm recently started to play a warlock/bard. Does anyone have ideas on any good cutting words phrases or insults?
How are you a leader? What exactly are you? The teddy bear is upset!? You don't look very happy, why don't you have a time out?

"How appropriate. You fight like a dairy farmer!"
Wait. I got that backward. Can I try again?

Look up some of the "psych out" lines from the old comedy "Baseketball"
"I hear your sister is going out wiiiith...Squeak!"
Google Shakespearean insults.
Like these ones.
"No longer from head to foot than from hip to hip. She is spherical, like a globe. I could find out countries in her."
"Thou art like a toad; ugly and venomous."
"Sell your face for five pence and ’tis dear."

Thanks, that's really helpful! I'll give it a try xD
"You have met my expectations." Works best with the right facial expectation.
You make baby gnomes cry
I've felt a pixies fart more powerful than you.
Your mother must be disappointed in your life choices
I would love to mock you...but im afraid I can't do better than nature already has
Somewhere a village is missing its idiot
When all else fails... no shame in resorting to yo mama jokes
