If Use the Death Domain Channel Divinity: Touch of Death when I hit with Vampiric Touch, does the channel damage increase the total damage dealt so I would in turn "steal" more heath when I heal?
I'm thinking I would as the Touch of Death say you deal extra necrotic damage and Vampiric Touch says regain hit points equal to half the amount of necrotic damage dealt.
Ya I know that, but does the damage from Touch of Death get added to Vampiric Touch total and in turn increase the amount you heal, or is seprate damage instance?
Vampiric Touch you'll heal for half of the necrotic dealt from that attack, including the amount from Touch of Death.
Honestly, my initial thoughts were there was a distinction between melee attack and melee spell attack, but when digging, the SAC pretty much settled it. Touch of Death deals necrotic, so that damage applies to the amount healed on top of the amount from Vampiric Touch.
That means also Inflict Wounds would qualify for Touch of Death additional damage, and any other melee spell attack roll.

But I wanted to check to be sure.
This specific case is addressed in SAC:

Does a melee spell attack count as a melee attack for Touch of Death?
A melee spell attack is, indeed, a melee attack and can qualify for the Death cleric’s Touch of Death feature.

Thank you, that is what I thought but I wanted to be sure.
