I'm still relatively new to DND and playing through a Strixhaven campaign as a Shadar Kai Twilight Cleric.
I had some great initial rolled stats using DNDbeyond and assigned them like so: Str 15, Dex 11, Cha 14, Int 7, Con 16, Wis 17. Plus origin choices were +2 to Wis and +1 to Con.
We've just now hit level 4 and after taking the ASI to wisdom and constitution my stats look like so: Str 15, Dex 11, Int 7, Con 18, Wis 20.
Am I particularly lucky with my initial roles that I can now have 20 Wisdom by level 4, I thought this would be much later.
Rolling on average is if I remember right a couple points higher than point buy. With three rolls above 15 and only one below 10 you did very well. If you assume 2 points per point above 13 you have a 9+3+7+(-1)+11+13 = 42 compared to the standard 27 point buy character.
That said to have a 20 in Wisdom at level 4 you really only needed one 16 which is a pretty reasonable rolled character.

Yes, you are really lucky. A Standard array or point-buy would contain 15,14,13,12,10,8. You are seriously lucky with rolls.

Thanks both, we rolled initially all together which was fun. Glad that it's not unreasonable to have 20 on a stat at level 4.
Cheers!
