So I just started a campaign with some friends. Right now I have a lvl3 paladin and I’m going to multi class with cleric. The main problem I’m having tho is when I go to choose my domain the only option for me is the life domain. Does anyone know why this is and how to fix this? please.
If you haven't bought the PHB with D&D Beyond, then the Life domain is the only one available to you for free. You'd have to pay for the other domains, but if you know what you want then you can buy them individually so you don't need the entire book if you don't want to spend that much.
I would probably not recommend multi-classing a paladin with a cleric. Mostly because paladins wants Str and Cha, and clerics need Wis so you're gonna be pretty MAD.

it depends on what they are looking for out of Cleric. A small dip might be worthy if done for the right reasons.

Any time an unfathomably powerful entity sweeps in and offers godlike rewards in return for just a few teensy favors, it’s a scam. Unless it’s me. I’d never lie to you, reader dearest.
I was wondering about this, too. How do you purchase them individually? I can't seem to find where in the Marketplace. I just see the bundles and game modules.

If you go to the store, then click on the book you want to look at, if you scroll down, you should see "additional purchase items". You can click on the things you want individually and add them to your cart.

I'm trying to create a Cleric, and have purchased the PHB, and Xanathars guide to everything and the only divine domain I can choose from is Life. I am missing something?
I'm not trying to be offensive, but did you purchase them in DDB? Also, are you signed in?

Others have probably said this, but cleric/paly is not a good multiclass bc it's MAD (you cast off two different abilities) . Paly's multi class well with Sorc.

depends on what you are looking for out of the component parts.

I did buy the books from DDB, and yes I am logged in, I checked that, to see if that may have been the problem, but no luck.
I bought the hardcover books from Amazon, but bought the Compendium Content Only, for both books on DDB, would that be what's causing the issue?
It appears that's your problem. I just did a google search and found this.

Thanks for finding that. i was searching myself, but ran into PC problems before I found any thing. Guess I'm out 40 bucks.
I think you can update to the full version for the difference in price.

Multiclassing for story > multiclassing for any other reason

Agree to disagree.
Thank you! I am building a War Cleric, and for a couple of bucks, I got what I needed. :D
