So, I seem to be one of the few who really like Shillelagh. I see people saying that a Druid shouldn't be in melee (unless in WildShape), and talk of frontline and backline. But, in our campaigns, after all the movement allowed in 2 rounds (by all combattants concerned) it's turned into melee combat anyway, so my druid often contributes in melee too, frequently with Poison Spray but, for good flavour, with his actual Shillelagh (= blackthorn club).
Using a club with Shillelagh gets me the same 1d8 (same as a host of single-handed martial weapons) and lets me carry a shield for AC boost. Now, while my fighting companions may be progressing to +1, +2 weapons, etc., if I try using a +1 club with Shillelagh, the club's magic bonuses disappear - that is, the club has not become a 1d8 +1 for damage. Is this because the bonuses don't stack? Or because there's a bug in the Beyond D&D mechanics?
Lots of people like Shillelagh. Not sure where you get from that it's rare to like it. What people are saying is that you shouldn't aim to be in melee with most druids. Shillelagh is a great backup plan for most but rarely the main plan.
As for the bonus from magic weapons it should work just fine. The thing with DDB is that it doesn't apply Shillelagh to a specific weapon you've equipped. It just gives you the Shillelagh as completely separate source of damage.

I've never encountered a forum where I got this many "talking to a wall" impressions as this one...
Thanks guys. Here was I thinking that it's obvious which weapon the cantrip applies to, coz I've only got one club. But, putting myself in the place of having two clubs, then the answer is pretty clear - just as you both said. Thanks again.

To emphasise the point, if I am wielding a Staff of Striking and then throw the Shillelagh cantrip, the To Hit and Damage of the staff go backwards.

DDB has no way to know which weapon you've cast the spell on, just as it has no way to know you in your party you might have cast Cure Wounds on.
