i have staff of woodlands, cube of force , amulet of health.
Aloha to all i play a 13 lvl moon druid and i am facing the classic problem with AC but ok i ll go elemental.
In elf from i have 17 AC and in the last fight we fought a dragon in the Underdak is ok to get hit all the time but i would like what i should prioritize i tried to heal the party but i couldnt dragon was hitting hard
After that fight we came to defend a temple but at the 1at wave with some 2 assasins and 2 mages and 1 blackguard (i think) we fall unconsious
My party was 1 Artificer armorer ,1 ranger tank 23 AC , 1 Bard and 1 Rogue
I tried to tank some of the damage with my Forms and Heal all the time and didnt focus on dmg but dont know we couldnt kill one or even have high dmg numbers
Should i change my mindset and go a different directions?
Should i stop trying to be the tank and become a caster damage with some CC?
Are you not casting any spells in combat, just wildshaping? Because that's going to adversely affect your combat performance in tier 3 no matter what form you pick.
Moon Druids really only crush combat as a "martial" with their forms in tier 1 (levels 1-4). As soon as the actual martials get extra attack the moon druid needs to start weaving in spells cast before wildshaping to keep up.
I would try and avoid engaging enemies on the first round and let the martial tanks engage first. Hang back a bit and then go in. But I also think your team looks like it's lacking in the damage department in general and the druid spell list isn't the best at solving that thanks to so much of your dpr spells doing non-magical damage.
Sounds like you need more control spells...things to separate the hordes from all attacking at once (Wall of Fire/Thorns, Icestorm, Insect Plague). Even fog cloud can help.
for things hiding from you and possibly invisible, use Conjure Woodland Beings to summon Darklings. That provides you with 4 scouts/bodyguards with 30 ft Blindsight, 120 ft Darkvision, Passive Perception 15, and Perception +5, not to mention that they also have Stealth +7 and aren't bad in combat. Also, with a 10 intelligence, are a lot smarter than the usual conjure.

RAW you only select 4 fey creatures of CR 1/2 or lower and your DM chooses the actual creature. Many DMs rule otherwise but there are issues with this spell however it is ruled, it is no fun to cast a spell only for hte DM to give you something that is virtually useless for the position you are in (a really nasty DM could give you something less than 1/2 CR) it is also no fun for everyone else if when the DM tells you waht creature you summon you then spend 5 minutes readingf its stats and features and deciding how you can best use the. Conversely some options are broken if the player can choose them the classic here is getting 4 pixies to each cast polymorph and get 4 4th level spells for the price of 1.
RAW Wild Shape is limited to a beast you have seen, Polymorph is not.
The crazy thing is you can polymorph your friend into a Dinosaur and then you have seen one so you can wildshape into it.
Ha! Good point. Despite what RAW is, my DM and I have been playing with the restriction on Polymorph being the same as for Wild Shape. I don't mind it, particularly as he's let me get away with playing a little fast and loose with some other rules. I think it's reasonable to RAI them with the same restriction, but RAW that's how it's meant to work.

You've got an artificer, a ranger, and a bard. All of them can pick up healing spells. Don't drop a build you're having fun with just for that.
Birgit | Shifter | Sorcerer | Dragonlords
Shayone | Hobgoblin | Sorcerer | Netherdeep

I cast 1 spell like moonbeam and then shapeswift. My problem is my low ac cause my Hp are not enough when ppl hit you for 60+ per round or attack.
I want to have fun but also complete the campaign. I don't mind the role

Ok I can do that become the cc machine.
Now we are in water deep and assassins from underdark have destroyed the city and roam free the city. What weaknesses have and their strenghts?
Are you asking for info on assassins? I do not think we should spoil this for you. :-)
However the suggestions above tend to work on all creatures.

One question about polymorph.
Can I be trex or the same rules apply like when I shape change (I must have seen it and studied it)
RAW you must have seen the beast to polymorph into it. Some DMs are flexible on this.
It is not hard to figure out where the Dinosaurs exist and fly there to study them as a giant eagle or other flying beast.

Ah you are correct. I always assumed Polymorph had the same rules. I knew Shapechange did not.
It is an odd inconsistency.
