I was looking into making a new druid for an upcoming game and wanted to lean heavy into a spider focused druid. I started with looking into circle of the land underdark but wanted to see what others have to say. I will always want spider climb, giant insect, and Insect plague prepared. I know its not the optimal way to play but I wanna see what can be done to fit the aesthetic of the character and will optimize later. So if anyone has any pointers or tips it would be much appreciated. We where told we can use any book (exception no spell jammer)/ class/ and subclass but any race that could be seen as monstrous is banned and any race that is outright evil (Ex: Yuan-ti, Orc, and Ravinloft Lineages).
I was just about to go Dhampir for the spoderclimb but you have it banned. It's not outright evil though. It's not your fault something bit you or you have some vampire in your ancestry.
Spiderclimb is not a druid spell but the other 2 spells are. You could just turn into a spider with any subclass at level 2 or go moon circle and do giant wolf spider at level 2. Or do land circle and select underdark, forest, or mountain for spider climb. Underdark gets you insect plague too (but it's a druid spell anyway) and grass, dessert, and swamp get you insect plague but not spiderclimb.

You have your CRs a little mixed up any druid can turn into a giant wolf spider at level 2. Level 2 Moon Druids can also turn into a giant spider.
Your two methods of leaning into a spider theme are wildshape and spells. Land gives to access to more "spidery" spells. While moon druid enables you to go into combat as a spider.
Another option is summons. Speak to your DM about conjure animals. SAC says that you choose the CR and the DM choses the monster. Many tables don't play that way (a big issue is you then have to study what the creatures they gave you can do which can really slow combat down), ask your DM if he will either let you choose what you conjure or that every time you ash for CR 1/4 creatures you get giant wolf spiders and whenever you ask for a CR1 creature you get giant spider.
While spiders generally shoot webs at range and bite for poison damage I do think poison spray has a spidery feel.
Regarding Race I think Simic Hybrid would fit. Nimble Climber and all the level 5 animal enhancements can make you more spidery and even mnta glide can be re-flavored to shooting a web up enabling you to slow your descent for 100ft (though the horizontal movement isn't particularly spider like). I don't know if your DM would class it as monsterous.
