The Druid 101 that was posted recently explains it really well if you’re going for an offensive playstyle Moon isn’t for you Moon is perfect defense giving you this huge pool of hit points making it difficult to die and while the attacks can be powerful at low level once you get to level 20 Wild Shape attacks become underwhelming but you practically can’t die
Moon Druid kind of reminds me of Hexblade Warlock...the “go to” subclass for those who just want to hack and slash (or bite and claw) like a MF’er. There is so much more that the other subclass offer. Spore Druid provides a really cool alternative to Wildshape. Land Druid makes you more Wizardy. Shepherd is great for players who love being surrounded by furry spirit animals. Don’t get me wrong, every party benefits from having a Moon Druid to absorb damage...I just don’t think there is a need to jack up the CR for non Moon-ers.
