Many of us have seen HELP ME MAKE THE ULTIMATE FIGHTER!!!!!, and other posts like it. This is not one of those. This is where we share added flavor text that makes a druid go from powerful to metal, such as Critical Role's blight killing the grass that it passes over, etc. Anything is game, from cool common magic items to change the appearance of the druid to races, fun costumes, "skins" for spells, and on and on.
Well to start off I'd recommend for general flavor have your armor be the armor of smoldering because when your wolf scream sounds off the start of a fight seeing the gaunt human with smoke rising up from his body write as an actual dire wolf tear its way out of his body will tell everybody that they should have respected nature more.
For general METAL flavor druid wild shape lets you have your equipment drop to the ground so instead of the standard shape changing your new form can claw it's way free of your humanoid form, if you've got a spare round it can eat the meaty bits before moving off.
For spells there is as you mentioned the critical role blight wave but just about any spell can be metal as **** depending on how you describe them, call lightning for example has your eyes crackle with sparks as you ominously point at your target and the heavens shriek a chorus of triumphant rage as light and heat explode down and turn the earth beneath the mobile fertilizer into a charred circle with small fires gently flickering.
There's also the inherently METAL spell primal savagery where you grow caustic claws and fangs to rend and tear.
Moving away from spells there are items that help make things a little more badass with flavor text abounding, you can have a vicious scimitar that hisses and howls as you carve into your foe, the extra damage from vicious appearing as parallel claw marks on their face and shoulders.
I'll try to think of more but that's a pretty fun concept, thanks dude.

There is a ton of stuff to make your druid needlessly METAL.
For the Basics
If you want a Melee Druid. Circle of Spore and Long Death Monk work really well.
