I am a level one druid. I want to have one healing spell. Which is the best one? Also, Attack an attack spell/ cantrip might be useful. I'm thinking that absorb elements and shelligah would combo together well? Please help me.
Also - I don't want to spend twenty pounds just to get a new spell.
Congrats on being a Druid! They are the most versatile and (obviously) the best class in 5e ;)
Cure Wounds is great but Healing Word is the one you really need when the poo hits the fan. If you only have Cure Wounds and a player goes down mid battle, you either leave that player out of the battle or YOU leave the battle for that round (as well as any difficulty you might face in getting to the fallen). Healing Word takes a bonus action (so you still get your action) and your companion is back on their feet for their next turn. Leave the heavier healing to the Cleric in the party.
Poison Spray, Shillelagh and Thorn Whip are all great offensive cantrips (although Shillelagh doesn't scale at higher levels). Ice Knife (L1) is also fabulous. But don't forget the Produce Flame cantrip. It's versatile: does damage, creates light, and and ignites flammables (like oil flasks that have been hurled and smashed against something).
Cure Wounds is the standard HP recovery spell but you can do better.
Goodberry gives you the biggest healing bang for a level 1 spell slot but it's not so useful during a fight (makes 10 berries, spend an action to eat one and heal 1hp at a time).
Healing Word can be done at range as a bonus action. It is great for keeping your people in the fight. Would not use it to fully recover their hp though.
Hello, thank you very much for your help. Thorn while comes with a book, and I don't wanna buy something just for new spells. I am the only healer in my party. There is no cleric.
Level 1 and you're the only healer? Then Healing Word for when people hit 0hp. There are other ways of restoring hp outside of combat that don't burn all your spell slots. Talk to your DM about throwing in a few potions for the party.
I wouldn't plan on getting into melee range, especially if you're the only healer. Druids usually don't have the armor class or hitpoints to stand next to the enemy for long.
Also, don't make healing your only role in the party. Buffs/debuffs are powerful and druids have a lot of them. Faerie Fire is a great spell at all levels of play.

Thanks.
If possible get the healer feat. It basically gives one free healing per person per rest. It is tied to consumables but it's 5 gold for 10 uses.
It's a great way to save spells for combat because offense often saves on healing.
Thanks
