Only played a Moon Druid and so far it is really great and has been my favorite character to play as. Love the versatility of the casting and melee wild shaping.
If multi classing the other circles become more beneficial for me.
In a well build meta team the other circles can also become more useful.
But I don't like meta gaming, I like RP and giving myself a challenge.
Last time I played a druid I used a war forged base. My body was rebuilt from a broken Golem, a dead treant and powered by arcane runes burnt into my stone and wood.
I couldn't take the shape of anything smaller then medium and everything I did was either plant, stone or arcane based.
This meant that when I Wild Shaped I was covered in plant growth with my golem stones shifting to the areas of attack or defense.
I had disadvantage to fire attacks.
My conjure animals either summoned fey in the form of plants or animals made of plants.
I multi classed as a wizard for arcane powers and used corpses to grow my own minions that took the form of their host but remained as plants not zombie.
If raising skeletons fungus would coat the bones, function as a skeleton but be a plant with a short life span breaking after a few minutes at most.
From a fresh corpse, mushrooms would grow along the spine and neck. Within 24 hours, the bones would be coated in fungus and slowly dissolved to be replaced with dense fibrous material. All sinew, ligaments and tendons were replaced with fungus and the muscles were replaced with bunched up vines that functioned the same way.
If these minions survived for 30 days they either stayed as companions or left.
If they stayed they would gain exp. Each level I rolled a d100 (a D20 would work just as well, pending changes available) the DM would pick from a list and the minion gained either stats or physical changes. Be it defensive, offensive or plants would grow on it or its size could change.
I also had some negative effects included for RP purposes.
All in all I've found circle of the moon to be a better stand alone class but the other circles can be used to create some extra flavor.
I've only played moon but looking forward to playing another type in the Future. Seems like druid can be a really powerful caster, I just fell in love with beast shape as as soon as I read the PHB. Was my first character ever.
It’s a bit sad that Circle of Dreams is so unpopular. It makes me want to write a post in its defense.
I don't know if Dreams needs "defending" per se. For me at least, It's not that the circle is bad, it's that it's boring. All of the other circles juice up certain parts of the class, and are very thematic and interesting in how they function. Dreams just doesn't hit that goal.
Land: "Spells! So many spells! You want to cast more spells? You want to cast new spells? SPELLS!"
Moon: "Shapeshifting! Turn into a giant monster and maul your enemies! Turn into a fire monster and BURN THEM ALIVE! Don't worry about getting beat up either!"
Shepherd: "Wanna go full badass Disney Princess? Talk to Animals! Summon Spirits! Summon Animals! MURDER EVERYTHING BENEATH YOUR FLUFFY HORDE"
Dreams: "Here's a huge pile of lvl 1 healing words. Also you camp good."
Later they get more interesting features with the Hidden Paths and Walker in Dreams, but that's really late in the game for most players.
In a high travel game where stealth is important, Circle of Dreams is amazing. We have a CoD Druid in our party, and our DM likes to throw lots of random encounters at us. Being able to conceal ourselves more effectively when camping is a huge boon.

I think the level 14 divination abilities of the Circle of Dreams Druid are also more effective in an ongoing campaign, rather than a series of Adventurers League one-shots such as one might encounter at a convention. In the latter, you basically deal with one threat or task or enemy, then you're done. In an ongoing campaign, where enemies may be far away, and encountering them may be many sessions in the future, things like Dream and Scrying and a specialized Teleportation Circle are more useful.

I like them all. I’d like to play a Druid of every circle.
