I just got my new monster manual and was disappointed to find that giant elks and giant eagles are celestials now?? I know at my table I can house rule whatever I want but I do enjoy relying on rules as written as much as possible. Being able to fly/carry my companions was a go to move of mine as a druid usually. Are there any other larger flying replacements?
There's still the Quetzalcoatlus (if they are known to exist in the setting) from Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse, though they're CR 2, and thus out of reach for everyone except Circle of the Moon Druids.
As with many changes made in the new ruleset, as well as most of D&D 5e, if the rules get in the way of your party's enjoyment of the game just kinda ignore them? They're better off as suggestions at this point anyway.

This search will show you Huge-sized beasts from the new Monster Manual. Unfortunately there aren't any flying ones.

Giant Owl is out too. I haven't found anything for a replacement either.

🎵I'm on top of the world, looking down on creation, wreaking death and devastation with my mind.
As the power that I've found erupts freely from the ground, I will cackle from the top of the world.🎵
Charisma Saving Throw: DC 18, Failure: 20d6 Psychic Damage, Success: Half damage
The Giant Bat seems to do your needs? Large size so it can carry a Med rider, Beast and only CR 1/4 for a fly of 60'.
Life's hard - get a helmet!
Noticed this yesterday, I suppose it'll have to do
Good find and thank you for sharing it.
